They also create automated systems to support global manufacturing and provide exceptional productivity within factories.

Mazak have facilities across the globe, including the USA, South America and Europe, including their European Technology Centre in Worcester which showcases Mazak’s Innovative Machining technology, as well as providing access to  support from a large team of engineers with a wide variety of experience in all sectors.

On the 11th June, Henry made the trip to Worcester to attend the Manufacturing Solutions – NOW open house event at the Mazak European Technology Centre. The event began with the chance to see some of the innovative products and projects that the company has been involved with developing, including propellors for the maritime industry that had been machined using their innovative subtractive manufacturing technology.

Following an introduction from the director of the ETC, delegates were treated to an insight into the logistics and technicalities of flying Concorde from Captain Les Evans, who had the privalage as flyig as a Senior First Officer on Concorde between 1999 and it’s retirement from service in 2003.

Following the talk, delegates were invited to see the ETC, and observe demonstrations of Mazak’s advanced machining centres, many of which are capable of running entirely autonomously, and can combine additive and subtractive manufacturing to create intricate parts to high tolerances.

The day was rounded off by a tour of the Manufacturing Facility, which is a prime example of how digital technologies can be utilised to create an innovative, productive factory, which is capable of manufacturing both parts for machines, and creating entire machining centres.

Overall, the open house event provided an insight into the capabilites of one of the leading global machine manufacturers.
